The International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Board has a new Canadian co-chair.

Jennifer Vincent takes over from Mike Goffin, who held the position for over a decade.

Vincent is the Executive Director of Ontario for the Freshwater Management Directorate of the Canada Water Agency (CWA), a branch of Environment and Climate Change Canada.

A release states that she has experience working on the Lake of the Woods Freshwater Ecosystem Initiative, integrating the science, governance and stewardship activities in the basin to restore and protect water quality and ecosystem health in the lake.

Vincent will oversee the binational watershed board with Colonel Carl Jansen, who is currently serving as the interim U.S. co-chair.

The Board assists with the coordination of water quality efforts within the watershed that covers parts of Minnesota and northwestern Ontario.
