The City of Kenora has paid tribute to a long time volunteer and resident.
Council has presented Ruth Bowiec with a Citizen Recognition Award.
In addition to being a long time social and community columnist with the Miner and News, Bowiec has been involved with a number of community group.
Bowiec who turns 90 next week is still volunteering with the Hospital Auxilliary and the Pincrest Home for the Aged.
She’s also been involved with the Kinsmen, Lion’s Club and Lake of the Woods Museum.
