The Kenora OPP say two people are dead and three people have been sent to hospital following a single vehicle collision on Highway 525.
The incident took place around 2:00 Saturday afternoon about two kilometers from the intersection of Highway 596.
Police say two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded and were able to take the three passengers for treatment for their injuries.
The OPP North West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and OPP Collision Re-Constructionists are assisting in the investigation as it remains ongoing.
Highway 525 was finally reopened just after midnight on Sunday.
The highway was closed for about 10 hours as a result of the crash.
