How much will you receive for your Canada Carbon Rebate?

By Tara Clow Apr 11, 2024 | 8:21 AM

The federal government has released a tool to help Canadians figure out approximately how much their carbon rebate cheque will be.

The Canada Carbon Rebate estimator tool asks four simple questions, including your province and whether you have a spouse or common-law partner.

It can provide your estimated total for the upcoming rebate.

You’ll receive your rebate through direct deposit or cheque every three months, starting April 15.

If you have a tax debt with the CRA, it will be deducted from the rebate.

Rough estimates of what a family of four may receive:

  • $450 in Alberta
  • $300 in Manitoba
  • $280 in Ontario
  • $376 in Saskatchewan
  • $190 in New Brunswick
  • $206 in Nova Scotia
  • $220 in Prince Edward Island
  • $298 in Newfoundland and Labrador

The quarterly rebate is meant to help offset the increased costs that Canadians face as a result of the carbon tax.
