All Nations Hospital committee still waiting for approval

The All Nations Hospital committee is still waiting patiently for the province to approve their phase 2 plans.

Cheryl O’Flaherty is a one of the leads on the committee and says they hope to have approval soon.

“We have not been approved yet”, states O’Flaherty.

“We’re still going through some Q and A’s with the Ministry and the business case has gone through a couple of reviews at this time.  We’re still waiting for another response back from them.  But we’re fairly close to having it all resolved.”

President and CEO of Lake of the Woods District Hospital Ray Racette thinks it will be smooth sailing once Phase 2 is finally approved.

“We’ve had lots of discussions with different ministries and different people about the project.  We’ve been in front of lots of people to talk about this project and that transcends all the planning and all of the details we have submitted.”

Once the Phase 2 plans are approved, then the project can move to Phase 3, which includes the actual design of the hospital and location.
